== 2011 earthquake ==
On June 23, 2011 at 7:10 PM Alaska Daylight Time, an earthquake was hit 20 miles (32 km) southeast of Amukta Pass.〔(TSUNAMI WARNING 4 Alaska ONLY at this time. NO threat to CA coast for now. OES monitoring. No action at this time. ) accessed June 24, 2011〕 With an initially reported magnitude of 7.4 and later on revised to 7.2, there was a tsunami warning due to the size of the earthquake. The warning was issued within 155 miles (250 km) from the epicenter. However, the warning was canceled as there were no tsunamis to be found and recorded nearby.〔(Tsunami warning is canceled following Alaska quake ), accessed June 24, 2011〕
